Certifications Offered by K.O.I.

Koi Organisation International offers certifications in the following categories:

 

Basic Koi Keeping - K.O.I. 101
K.O.I. 101 is a course in basic Koi keeping. It has been written and edited by numerous serious Koi keepers with well over 50 years of combined experience. This course will provide virtually everything you need to know to keep Koi alive and healthy. The course includes information on questions to answer before building a pond.  A fun quiz or crossword is available, and upon completion, a certificate of completion is offered.

 

Level 2 Certification - Certified Koi Keeper (CKK)
A Certified Koi Keeper (CKK) is a person who has met both the completion and continuing education requirements of the CKK curriculum offered by Koi Organisation International, Inc. (K.O.I).

The goal of the Certified Koi Keeper curriculum is to provide a solid understanding of the primary Koi health and husbandry issues.
 Koi Organisation International, Inc. supports all Certified Koi Keepers as persons very qualified to diagnose and treat many common Koi pond and fish problem.
 To earn K.O.I. certification as a Certified Koi Keeper, a person must take and pass all 9 courses in the Certified Koi Keeper curriculum specified below:
 K.O.I. 201 – Water Quality
 K.O.I. 202 – Pond Construction
 K.O.I. 203 – Pond Filtration
 K.O.I. 204 – Koi Nutrition
 K.O.I. 205 – Koi Anatomy
 K.O.I. 206 – Koi Physiology
 K.O.I. 207 – Koi Diagnosis and Treatment
 K.O.I. 208 – Quarantine, Bio-Security and Record Keeping
 K.O.I. 220 – Koi LAB

K.O.I. Show Water Quality Specialist
A K.O.I. Show Water Quality Specialist is a person who has met both the completion and continuing education requirements of the K.O.I. Show Water QualitySpecialist curriculum offered by Koi Organisation International, Inc. (K.O.I).  The Show Water Quality Specialist Courses are designed to teach successful preparation for Koi Shows, how to maintain water quality during a show, how to deal with emergencies and how to safely prepare to ship the Koi home.

To earn K.O.I. certification as a K.O.I. Show Water QualitySpecialist, a person must take and pass all 5 courses in the K.O.I. Show Water Quality Specialist curriculum specified below:

  • K.O.I. 201 – Water Quality
  • K.O.I. 207 – Koi Diagnosis and Treatment
  • K.O.I. 310 – Transporting Koi
  • K.O.I. 403 – Koi Show Water Quality and Koi Safety
  • K.O.I. 503 – Koi Show Water Quality Internship

K.O.I. Pond Science Certification

A person Certified in Pond Science has met both the completion and continuing education requirements of the Pond Science curriculum offered by Koi Orgainisation International, Inc. (K.O.I.). The Pond Science courses are designed to provide students with education about the requirements of a healthy Koi environment, and how to create, maintain and improve Koi ponds.

To earn K.O.I. certification in Pond Science, a person must take and pass all 4 courses in the K.O.I. Show Water Quality Specialist curriculum specified below:

    K.O.I. 201 – Water Quality
    K.O.I. 202 – Construction
    K.O.I. 203 – Filtration
    K.O.I. 563 – Pond Modifications
